Content Warnings for miscarriage, uncharitable depictions of addiction and sex work, sexism, low-key racism. Sin in Space is less lurid than its infamous cover art suggests. It is the story of a communist space colony struggling to survive on Mars while in competition with corporate work colonies. The book very clearly favors the communist colonists and thinks very poorly of anyone who depends on or buys into the old capitalist Earth mentality, which is interesting and a bit daring for a work from the 1950s. I have chosen to preserve Sin in Space in audiobook form because no one else was doing it. It's a funny if flawed little book about someone's dream for a worker's utopia, but also a page turner for moms who were hot for Bones from OG Star Trek. I'm finally comfortable with my voice after decades of dysphoria. I needed something that required little energy to do in order to feel productive during cancer treatment. Why not.
